To the ones that make us who we are

"All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother" is what one of the best persons who ever walked the earth said - Abraham Lincoln.

Our very conception begins in our mother’s wombs. We bloom into what we are from her. She lets our heart beat for the first time in her. Cares for us till we are alive or till she ceases to be.

A whole lot of us take her for granted of everything she does and has done for us. Her sacrifices go ignored and her love, sadly unrequited. We silently know that unlike our friends and the people we love, our parents would never leave our sides, they would never stop loving us and treat us the same way every day like our friends do on our birthdays. Yet, they remain the most under-rated people in our lives.

Like the way Lincoln has rightfully said, I believe whatever we are or shall become is because of our parents.

Memories exist in the past, let me share you a few things I think that we all can do to make the person’s life worthwhile who makes our life worth living.

Respect her.
How many times have you back answered her, how many times has she seen your tantrums and never reacted. How many times has it happened that you ignore her like she doesn’t means anything. Remember she is the very reason of your existence. She gives you all that she couldn’t have or do in her life and even more. She makes sacrifices that hardly anyone you come across in your life would have the ability to make. So, the least you can do is respect her. If you don’t respect your own mother, who else shall respect you either?

Become a good human.
The sole purpose of parents is to make their children a better person than they themselves could ever be. If you become one, they will succeed as parents and eventually live a life that they are happy with. What greater joy than to see one’s children become a good person in life. Become what you would want your children to be like.

Be grateful to her.
No matter what you are, who you are or where you are, be grateful for the simplest things, the tiniest things in life. Your mother is one of the greatest  person in life to be grateful for. She dedicates her whole life to her family , to her children without asking anything for return just because she is grateful to have a husband like your father and kids like you, learn the art of gratitude from her. Learn the art of not expecting anything in return from her.

Love her.
I can’t give reasons why you should love your mother. There are no reasons for why you love the people you love. You simply love them, you can’t explain it neither can you understand it, you just love them. Do it with all what you have, love her with all your heart and soul. And don’t worry if you can’t express it with words. She’ll somehow know, just like everything else.

These are the things I feel every child shall do for their sweet mothers. Ain’t much, no?

As she grows old with life, make her feel young, let her feel a little beautiful just the way everyone loves to feel. Gratitude

Gratitude is an integral part in our lives. But just like everything else, there is a fine line between where you express it in a kind way or annoy the person you are grateful to by being extra thankful just because you want attention from them. Most of the times being natural is the best way to let things be. Trying to be over cautious, over caring sometimes pesters the other person. I completely believe we should be more kind than needed and regardless of how we are being treated, we should treat our fellow beings with utmost respect and the same way we want others to treat us.

My Airtel App

Gone are the days when recharging your mobile, DTH or paying bills meant going to the local shopkeeper, waiting for due time and still not being sure of the work done. Why would you need to when you can simply do it from your smartphones and also get exciting offers all at a single place.

The newly introduced My Airtel App is the central dashboard that will help you manage all your DTH, Broadband, Prepaid & post-paid services in one place. Not only this but it also has various offers lined up for grabs, that gives us additional benefits of using the app as well the convenience factor is something that makes our lives easier.

Technology in its broadest usage facilitates only two things:

1.      It makes our lives easier.

2.      It does things fast.

Both of these reasons lets us do more important things in our lives while technology itself staying in the background.

Airtel has taken leaps with their My Airtel App by creating an user experience that people will not only enjoy but use it to do things that they previously had to take much efforts for doing. This shall change the telecom scenario big time. We needed something like this to fall in our way and here it is.

After downloading and using the app, the three key features that I think what makes Airtel and its cool new My Airtel App are:

1.     The central dashboard of all my Airtel services.
Be it recharging the phone, paying the bills, paying for DTH, this is the all to go place. It’s hassle free and as convenient as anything you can imagine spending your time on the phone. It saves a lot of time and time is a precious commodity.

2.      Exciting new offers just with a shake.
In today’s inflated market, there is little you can expect in free or discounted prices. My Airtel App does that with a shake. You simply shake your phone to get new offers that you’ll fall in love with. Who doesn’t like offers? That too without any effort, you get offers on the same place where you pay your bills or recharge. Isn’t that cool?

3.     Add numbers of family and friends.
Everything has gone social except our telephone operators. With the new My Airtel App, it is first in its kind to do so. You can easily manage your family and friends’ contact numbers and much more. It surely helps to be in touch with our close ones in every way possible. Now it becomes easier.

There are certainly so much more features that helps us be effortless and get things done. Brands like Airtel makes the process of complex things as seamless as possible and that is the reason they are the No. 1 Telecom operator in our country.

Watch this funny commercial for the My Airtel App and have a good laugh.

Don’t forget to download the App for Android and iPhone users can soon do it too.

Ek Nayi League

Sports is much more than just physical involvement in the game. It takes courage, grit, confidence and a lot more to give all what you have and get the desired results. Much more than what our physical strengths promises to give us, our emotional fitness matters too. Any game demands the same amount of mental resources as one’s physical endurance.

We’ve learned this from our childhood as well as from any one acquainted with sports that it is played from our hearts. We often talk about the sporting spirit, which means to have a big heart and think beyond winning and losing. To think about the spirit of the sport.

The recent trending topic on twitter and the videos that surfaced about the #EkNayiLeague has challenged anything that we have heard about playing with our hearts. Our country’s cricket captain Kapil Dev who won us the first World cup says something in his videos that contradicts all what we have previously heard about sports and amuses in a different way. It keeps us guessing in a strange way about what in the world it can be where you lose if you play with your hearts!

Whether it be the video where he asks our captain cool M.S. Dhoni to participate in what he calls #EkNayiLeague but warns in advance that he will be out if he plays with his heart.

Or when he defends Sania Mirza against the world for being a girl from India who ranks along with the world. And asks her to be a part of his new game where she would lose if she played with her heart.

When he is proud of Yuvraj singh for earning a handsome figure for his IPL contract this year and also the miraculous fight he won against cancer. To him too, he says that he not win in this new game if he played with his heart.

So, what game is it? How on earth can one lose something if he played with his heart?
Here is what I think the game could be.

#EkNayiLeague would involve sports stars but not for playing the game they actually play. But for a game which would test one’s mental fitness. Like a quiz show.

Where in, there would be games which would have heavy intellectual involvement and test their intellect. They would have to make decisions that would challenge the brains and make them think in a logical way rather than an emotional way.

Maybe it could be something else, maybe it could be the same as my wild guess but it surely seems to entertain us with loads of fun and I am extremely excited to know the game where you would lose if you played with your hearts. It would be nice to see a completely different concept arising out of all the clichéd ones.

Tell what you think about #EkNayiLeague on twitter with the same hashtag or submit your answers to Ek Nayi League and you could win Rs. 1 lakh.

Till then, follow Kapil Dev on twitter to know what #EkNayiLeague exactly is.
