The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the Independence Day speech last year, which was the first year of his governance, announced the Digital India initiative. It was not just any announcement that happens just for the sake of it. It was a promise to every individual for a better, digitally connected nation. It takes extreme courage, audacity and vision to allocate Rs. 1 lakh crores for an initiative that can change the future of our country.

Mr. Modi knows his potential and has set a deadline for the completion of this project as 2019. He knows that with an initiative so huge and of tremendous scale, he would need people who are experts in achieving these kinds of goals. He would need people who are as innovative as the world demands its people to be. He would need people who would evolve the digital dimensions of our country to an extent which is unprecedented. He would need people of extra-ordinary calibre to turn this vision into reality.

And of course, our country would need someone who would ‘look inside’ the problems that we digitally face. No one better than Intel could’ve done it.

With almost half a century of expertise in digitally empowering the world, Intel has done a splendid job by joining hands with the Indian government on making India digital in the coming few years. It becomes a responsibility for a group of people who are skillful enough to help this world become better and Intel by all means is doing that.

The Digital India initiative aims to digitize our country in ways more than one. And Intel is committed to creating a digitally enabled India and like always believes that innovation will drive this movement forward.

This is the age of technology and the lack of it can stunt the growth of our country. To meet the ever evolving and rising tech needs, it is of utmost importance to digitize the country for the future. This can be done with the technology of Intel and our government’s co-operation. Fortunately, both has been working hard for the same.

Our country’s people shall have appropriate access to technology so that they can enable its power to enrich their lives and on the other side, our government can connect with each individual regarding the governance and improve the standard of living of our people.

In the past era, we aimed to make people literate. Now, it has transcended to a complete different level and we are aiming to create digital literates. To make this happen, ease of technology, both in accessibility and in use shall be made sure.

Technology is anything that evolves our life to a simpler and faster life. Bringing this to a layman so that he can leverage it in his life is the challenge. When this comes to governance, the same stands true. Our people need not stand in long queues for petty tasks, they not need hesitate to raise their voice on opinions that matter and they need not waste precious hours of their lives just for things that could be done at the touch of their fingers. By harnessing technology in the right places we can do it with ease what now requires manual hard work.

There are benefits given by the government that no one knows of, there are subsidies for people who are unaware of them and there are policies that would make lives easier only if people knew about them. This happens because of a lack of proper communication between the government and its citizens. With the Digital India program, we hope Intel uses its state of the art technology to improve these conditions for our people.

The recent initiatives by Intel promise to make these ideas come true.

Digital Skills for India

On December 02, 2014, Intel has launched an initiative called ‘Digital skills for India’ which aims to empower people with locally relevant digital tools and services. Under the initiative, Intel has introduced Digital Skills Training Application that is comprised of modules on Digital Literacy, Financial Inclusion, Healthcare and Cleanliness in five Indian languages.

5 million people by the end of 2015 is what Intel is aiming for and the realization of this shall be a huge milestone in achieving a Digital India. The India that is still rural will be a great beneficiary of this initiative and should co-operate with Intel and our Government in all their plans they have for our better future.

I wish for a country where any person at his own will and ease shall be able to share his problems and communicate with the government regarding anything that he wishes concerning his rights in this country. After all, having a voice that is heard is what makes a country democratic.

Innovate for India

This year, it has come up with a new initiative which is a challenge too. It promises to leverage the skills of our young entrepreneurs to achieve a Digital India and for a better future as a whole. ‘Innovate for India’ will tap our country’s young minds and will surely help in harnessing their power for the better. With such challenging initiatives, Intel’s efforts towards a Digital India looks great. It has always encouraged the young part of a community to bring the change they wish to see.

The Digital India project alone has been estimated to create 5 crore jobs in the country and that shall be a huge step forward in tackling the unemployment problem too.
Young people when given credits and worth for their talent will surely engage in making India better. When given the right platform and support, I believe they shall be the driving force in our country’s progress.

It feels great to acknowledge the fact that our country’s government is taking efforts needed to make it a better country. And with Intel joining in, everything seems possible. We are on a great path ahead and shall live the life of our dreams while exercising every right as a citizen and definitely with a better future.

E-governance will be a key factor in improving the conditions of both, our country and its people. With the right people at the helm, the future looks great. And Intel knows it well that the best way to predict the future is to create it. Because they have been creating the future for quite a while now.

We wish Intel and the Indian Government the very best for everything that they are doing to create a better future and a #DigitalIndia.

It would be nice if you give your opinion for a Digital India, use #DigitalIndia and tell what you feel we need for a better future.
